Today, we recognize National Library Workers Day, a day dedicated to all librarians, library staff, and administrators who contribute to the success of a library. In celebration of this day, the LLF team visited the New York Public Library and interviewed Lynn Lobash, Associate Director of Readers Services, and Gwen Glazer, Recommendations Librarian in Readers Services (pictured above). They discussed their day-to-day schedules, how librarians interact with readers, and the many services they provide to bring great books and readers together. This interview highlighted some of the topics that are important to all librarians, including: staff training, readers advisory, title discoverability, promoting books in the library, and much more.
