Man In The Woods gets the Trifecta!

ManWoods hc c Scott Spencer delivers the goods in his new novel and receives STARRED reviews in Kirkus and Booklist and Publishers Weekly.

The Washington Post says:
“This is a book to savor and read aloud, a book that is variously wise, funny and heartbreaking…The outcome must not be revealed here, except to say that it is as powerful as everything else in the book… ‘MAN IN THE WOODS’  is one of the three best novels I've read this year… and if you pressed me, I'd put it at the top of the list."

Book Giveaway! Kill the Dead by Richard Kadrey

KilltheDead.HC.c Richard Kadrey returns with high-octane follow-up to his addicting SANDMAN SLIM. Publishers Weekly has given it a nice shout-out:

“James Stark, antihero of 2009's Sandman Slim, returns in this gritty, over-the-top tale of supernatural mayhem. Having taken his revenge on the rival magician who got him sent to Hell, Stark settles in sorcery-infested Los Angeles and gets a part-time gig with the Golden Vigil, an angelic hit squad of dubious morality that's somehow allied with Homeland Security. He spends the rest of his time as a freelance slayer of monsters. When Lucifer comes to Earth, supposedly to oversee a Hollywood biopic of his life, he hires Stark to be his bodyguard, but something isn't quite right and soon the city is awash in murderous zombies. Stark has to get to the bottom of the mystery or risk being sent back to Hell, along with everyone he cares about.
Profane, intensely metaphoric language somehow makes self-tortured monster Stark sympathetic and turns a simple story into a powerful noir thriller.”

SandmanSilmHC_c Richard Kadrey’s series is snarky, sarcastic, dark, twisted, and totally addicting. If you haven’t read this author, you’re in for a treat.

“If Simon R. Green wrote an episode of Dog the Bounty Hunter, it would read much like Sandman Slim—violent, vivid, non-stop action of the supernatural kind. I couldn’t put it down.”
Charlaine Harris

J.A. Jance, Publishers Weekly, Queen of the Night, thriller

Queen of the Night

9780061239243_0_Cover Publishers Weekly just gave J.A. Jance's latest, Queen of the Night, a starred review!  Check it out below:

Queen of the Night
J.A. Jance, Morrow, $25.99 (368p) ISBN 978-006-123924-3

Dedicated to the late Tony Hillerman, Jance's brilliant fourth suspense novel featuring former homicide detective Brandon Walker and his wife, novelist Diana Ladd (after Day of the Dead), spans some 50 years, from a murder in 1959 in San Diego to a rash of killings in Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Tucson, Ariz., in 2009. Interwoven with these crimes are legends of the Tohono O'odham Indians (aka the Desert People) and the lives of such contemporary Native people as Lani Walker, Brandon and Diana's adopted daughter. Jance's masterful handling of a complex cast of characters makes it easy for the reader to appreciate the intricate web of relationships that bind them across generations. The title refers to the night-blooming Cereus, a desert plant that blooms once a year and is of great symbolic importance to the Tohono. Jance, perhaps best known for her J.P. Beaumont series (Fire and Ice, etc.), has crafted a mystery that Hillerman would be proud of and that her fans will love. 7-city author tour. (July)

The Breach

Breach mm c Check out this rave STARRED review of Patrick Lee’s THE BREACH and their PICK OF THE WEEK.

If you’re looking for a great ‘guy’ book, this is it. This is a white-knuckle debut thriller starring an ex-convict who combines the government conspiracy angle of “24’s” Jack Bauer with the action of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher, with a dash of supernatural suspense

There’s also a strong female character at the center of the book, with a bit of a budding romance, so this should appeal to female readers as well.
