Last night was an exciting evening in the book world. The National Book Award winners were announced and I'm guessing you have an idea who might have won. Louise Erdrich took home the prestigious award for fiction for The Round House! This is the second in a trilogy, following The Plague of Doves (a Pulitzer Prize finalist, nbd), and I highly recommend reading it. I presented this title at ALA in June, and although I had not read the first book, I really enjoyed this one and didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Then I went back and read The Plague of Doves, and now can't wait to complete the set. You can hear me chatting about the book over on Earlyword.
Also nominated was Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, a particular in-house fave. Kayleigh loves this book and anything she recommends I immediately add to my TBR pile, so follow suit and get on it!
