There was a great article in last week’s New York Times on The Big Read, the community reading program that gets one town or city to read the same book simultaneously. Quite a few books from our backlist have become community read classics, like Their Eyes Were Watching God, The Alchemist, The Sweet Hereafter, A Treet Grows in Brooklyn, and To Kill A Mockingbird.
